But I am so tired of John Aniston playing almost everything as comic relief, even scenes and dialogue that are "normal" (for lack of a better word) and don't call for it. Arianne Zucker used to do that alot too, before Daniel's death. It's so annoying and makes it harder to take the character seriously.
I agree and I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed that with AZ (before Daniel's death) too. It got to the point where it seemed like always trying to deliver a punchline of a joke. She still does it. If she's not in the middle of crying over Daniel, she still plays every line like she's on a bad sitcom. She did it today, too.

Sorry if this has already been covered, but, It bugs me that they listed a bunch of Stefano's kids, even one, Megan, I'd never heard of, and they mentioned Kristen.... But, yeah, Peter never existed.... >.> Missy wasn't there, they should have included him in the list. :P
Peter was mentioned today, by Victor.
And then the camera went to Hope, which is a bit odd as I don't recall Hope & Peter ever really having much to do with each other (outside of anything related to Jen & Peter). Peter tried to kill Hope when he had the jungle madness.

Well I watched the ep and as a fan of Stefano I found myself a bit dissapointed.
I think they should have spent more times on the flashbacks. And they didn't choose any particularly good ones except for the final one. Bo's last episode alive was one big montage of flashbacks that outlined Bo/Hope's immense history. When Daniel died he was/is getting name dropped and made relevant constantly. Stefano didn't get much flashbacks and they weren't the right one. Save for the last one which I will admit was a good way to end the episode.
Roman's was good but I understand that they couldn't do much given the original actor had far more material with Stefano. Abe's was meh but that was to be expected. Kate was given an unusual amount of screen time with only one flashback that wasn't good.
John and Marlena's scenes were very disappointing. For Stefano's arch nemeisis to not have been given a slew of dialogue or flashbacks I found it very weird. For one her flashbacks should have been of her time as The Queen of the Night as that is one of her most iconic stories and the height of her relationship with Stefano. Her possession and maison blanche should have been included. However I do understand why they weren't included. The vast majority of usable flashbacks were used in the episode when Marlena and Stefano had their showdown in Italy last year. John's was rather recent and boring.
At the end of the day Stefano's biggest story lines were left out and the episode drifted off topic at times. And of course not enough Opera music.
um....one of her flashbacks WAS at the height of the Queen of the Night.....when he held her in the giant birdcage in the "Kingdom of the Night" underground in Paris and she heard John's prayer. I'm just disappointed that they didn't mention John being programmed to be Roman, that they talked about hypnosis, but not microchips, and no mention of Gina or the possession...otherwise, I thought it was.....pretty good. I especially loved Hope seeing Stefano at the end I am referring to when "The Queen of the Night" story line started and was a lead in for "The Possession" story line. I also believe that was when the story line was most relevant and not the Paris story line.

Drake and Kristian were both awful during the Alamainia storyline four years ago, but the original Princess Gina storyline had some good stuff that could have been used. Especially if they had used some of the footage from the turret, when Hope and Stefano bonded while being imprisoned by Gina. Hope wouldn't have needed any exposition. Plus it would have added to her internal guilty feelings.
I don't have any complaints about the clips, though I would have traded their duration for a few additional shorter ones.
Just did the math: Average age of the cast for this episode = 70.5
Could this have been the first episode since the mid-80s where Kristian Alfonso (52) was the youngest one on screen?

Peter tried to kill Hope when he had the jungle madness. Posted Image ahhh. thanks. The stuff that happened with Bope between their failed remarriage & stuff leading up to Princess Gina (basically from the introduction of Swamp Girl) was always a struggle to find on YouTube. It's like no Bope fan wanted to share that time period with newer/younger viewers.

Before the big crackdown on Youtube started, I had uploaded all the Bope stuff from their failed remarriage in Nov 1996 to the JL King story in April 1997. I was only a few weeks away from early Rome.

I wanted more flashbacks! There were too few.
I loved Deidre's cleavage in the 1996 one. I literally said, "wow, cleavage. They let her wear that back the-- oh that's not her actual dress." lol
